At 220 Hollywood Road, this new gallery space for Cat Street Gallery is only two doors down the road from the original and still functioning gallery at 222. The interior of this Gallery is two floors and was originally set up for the pop-up club Bijou from the UK in September of this year – and now it seems to be a space that can be rented out from Cat Street for events too.
Whether it remains as a working gallery or becomes the small private club it seems to have been designed for (large bar and DJ booth are still in place) remains to be seem.
One thing is for sure, the Sheung Wan end of Hollywood Road is developing fast with new restaurants, bars and shops and so 2011 should see this area as the place to go for people who despise Lang Kwai Fong and Wan Chai.
These were taken at night in a bright white set of rooms, using the Hongmei hg-1 and guessing how long to leave the shutter open. Can’t say I am massively happy with any of them – but since I stepped away from developing with the Ilfotec DD-X and moved to the seriously cheaper HC-110 I find that I am getting more grain and less contrast in my images.
Perhaps over the Christmas break next week I will try out the D76 I have in powder form if I can find something suitable to store it in.
