Where ever you go there are always cool or funny signs on shops and in the street – and taking photos of them seems to be becoming more and more of a theme with many amateur photographers. I am guilty of this myself; as taking a picture of a sign is no where near as intimidating as capturing people up close and in the street.
Asking people if you can take their picture often results in a staged photo you didn’t want at all, as they pose for you in the way they think you wanted – and taking a sly shot can often feel like you are being dishonest.
Street photography is no where near as simple as just carrying a camera around with you all the time and up close and personal portraits on the street are about as hard as it gets.
Taking candid shots on the street also requires very quick work with your camera – and using fully manual cameras makes this as difficult as being in the right place at the right time.
So my resolution for 2011 is – Less Signs and More People.
