The Zodiak 30/3.5

Whoever thought that an adapter should fit when bought for a specific lens and camera; has never bought one from the Ukraine for an old Ukrainian camera and a Zodiak full frame, medium format 30mm lens.

As I have wanted a Zodiak for a long time, I foolishly assumed that the specific adapter sold just for this reason would fit my choice of Kiev MF cameras and the lens.

The adapter to be honest fitted the lens beautifully – as this is a screw fitting that works on the old Hassleblad 100F.

What was no where near working was the bayonet for the Kiev. It was too deep, the bayonets the wrong size and not in the right places and generally took 4 hours of dedicated metal work to get it to fit.

Suffice to say, this lens will not fall off as it will never be possibly removed from the adapter that is more than an interference fit now….

Test films to follow as the level of distortion and DOF of this lens has to be seen to be believed.
