Lytro

So a new year arrives and with it another camera that claims to be the biggest development in photography in 200 years.

This one allows you to refocus the images once you have taken them by using a sensor that captures all of the light options for the image.

Set at f/2 this means that you get images with very short DOF that you can change at various depths throughout the images after you have downloaded it.

Gimicky? Probably. Will you tire of the limits of what the camera does for you? Probably.

Will you end up getting one (and thankfully it only comes with mac software as at last someone realises that Windows users have no creative talent)? Maybe…

For more info Google Lytro and decide for yourself.

As I couldn’t post without a picture – this is one from today that Nathalie took on her iPhone of Lola staring into my Nikon FE that was hanging in the make-shift shelter at the water fall on the farm where we are in the Western Cape.
